What government can learn from the dot coms

Esther Dyson says both governments and businesses would do well to use the internet more as a listening tool.

"Politics for its own ends is ridiculous"? Oh, and how shall we govern ourselves, Mr. Zuck? By clicking buttons on a computer screen? Forgive me, but politics as a human endeavor "for its own ends" -- that being, governance -- existed long before the Internet and frankly, long before neocons stole the limelight.
