The Tianmem Hubei story can be found widely reported in China:

http://www.sogou.com/sohu?query=%CC%EC%C3%C5+%BA%FE%B1%B1

If you read the reports you'll know 1) The villagers were disobeying lawful orders. Anarchy is not what democracy is about; 2) the deputized citizens (Chenguan) who beat Wei have been arrested. Police brutality from deputized citizens are not uncommon in US. So much so Congres had enacted law to subject deputized citizens leagal complaints.

So no, neither the CCP, Beijing, nor Hu Jintao is responsible for this.

So what is a "Chenguan"? They are citizens deputized by the munical police:

BTW, in addition to arresting the deputies for police brutality, the official responsible for Chenguan has also been dismissed.

Charles,

You got it wrong. Whenever something goes wrong in China, the leader is to be blamed.

But when it happens in other countries, then it is an isolated incident and the people involved will be charged.

In China, anything wrong and it is Hu Jin Tao's fault. That's the way They want us to think.

I don't know wether the video websites in China will be changed after 31, jan. But now we can watch the movie like lust&caution and the warlords on the youku.com(youtube in China). Young people just watch the movie in this video website, not download them from BT anymore.

China's video websites are different from youtube. We can watch the latest movies such as lust & caution or the warlords in the video websites. Young people in China no longer use BT, but watch the movie online directly.

Qi Zhengjun has only been dismissed from his post as head of chengguan, Charles Liu. He remains vice general-secretary of the municipal government (link)
