My friend Liu Xiaobo (pictured on the right) was taken away by police late Monday Beijing time, according to the NYT and China Digital News.
Since the 1989 Tiananmen square protest movement he has had much experience with arrest, detention, and house arrest.
I hope I will live to see the day when I no longer have to worry about my Chinese friends disappearing.
UPDATE: Liu and two other intellectuals have now been released, after police held them overnight for questioning.
Thanks for the update on the dissidents! If not for your blog, I might not have ever heard what happened to them!
Keep up the great work!
