Jonathan Zuck: "politics as its own end is a little bit ridiculous." The business model that survived the dotcom crash is community building. Finding ways to monetize the community-building is also what internet politics is about in many ways.
"Politics for its own ends is ridiculous"? Oh, and how shall we govern ourselves, Mr. Zuck? By clicking buttons on a computer screen? Forgive me, but politics as a human endeavor "for its own ends" -- that being, governance -- existed long before the Internet and frankly, long before neocons stole the limelight.
