I wonder if the use of the term "blogroll" is derived from "logrolling", which is the practice of trading votes. Spy Magazine did a feature where they called authors trading favorable quotes for each others books "logrolling" as well.

This entry appears to be of that ilk---more wasted bandwidth for the "mutual admiration society" of the bloggerati. The entry right after this one is "tracking easongate"; and guess who linked to it right away---none other than Jay Rosen, who is now obsessed with "Easongate" because wingnut warbloggers that he is tight with (Jarvis, Hewitt) think its significant.
