Congrats and good luck to Jay Rosen of Pressthink, who has signed a deal for a new book, tentatively titled Gatekeepers Without Gates.
I met Jay about a year ago. He gave me a lot of advice on my North Korea zone blog. He also inspired and encouraged me to leave MSM and go down my current unorthodox path. I have no idea where I'm leading but I'm certainly having one heck of a fascinating ride.
I wonder if the use of the term "blogroll" is derived from "logrolling", which is the practice of trading votes. Spy Magazine did a feature where they called authors trading favorable quotes for each others books "logrolling" as well.
This entry appears to be of that ilk---more wasted bandwidth for the "mutual admiration society" of the bloggerati. The entry right after this one is "tracking easongate"; and guess who linked to it right away---none other than Jay Rosen, who is now obsessed with "Easongate" because wingnut warbloggers that he is tight with (Jarvis, Hewitt) think its significant.
