North Korea zone, the North Korea-focused blog I started over a year ago as part of my project on blogging and international news, has been nominated by Reporters Without Borders in the English langugage/Asia category of the Freedom Blog Awards, which aims to honor "Blogs Defending Free Expression."

For more on NKzone's origins see this paper (PDF) I wrote last year, and this article that mentions its impact.
Many thanks to NKzone's community of authors, readers and commenters who have made this nomination possible.
Congratulations also to my good friends and cyber-allies who were also nominated for freedom blog awards: Ethan Zuckerman, Dan Gillmor, Jay Rosen, Jeff Ooi of Screenshots, Chris of Free North Korea, the journalists of Radio Free Nepal, Glutter in Hong Kong, Curt Hopkins at the Committee to Protect Bloggers, the Media Bloggers Association, etc. Everybody deserves to be honored for their fabulous work!
Tried to get to NK Zone tonight, cannot do. What's happened? I also have an NK site, chosunhouse.com that is getting a facelift soon. Looking for a huge NK banner like the one you use. Where do you suggest I look?
