I've started getting emails asking if I'm ok given that I haven't posted on this blog for over 2 weeks. Thanks for your concern. I'm fine. I got busy with Global Voices organizational stuff, plus I had some things going on in my personal life that made me not feel like blogging...
But then our GV Middle East/North Africa editor, the prolific Haitham Sabbah alerted me today - via a post on GV - to the fact that "The Religious Policeman," a fabulouly irreverent Saudi Arabian blogger, has resumed blogging after a yearlong hiatus. He is doing so despite the personal risk he takes by being so bluntly critical of the people who run his country, even when blogging anonymously. That inspired me. Time to crawl out of my hole and get going again. My excuses not to blog are not nearly as good as his.
Glad you're back ... it's been a long 17 days for your faithful readers, but hey -- everyone deserves a break!
