"News is not like the symphony, it's like cooking dinner....Very few people, if any, will earn a living doing this, much as most of us don't earn a living by cooking dinner, but we do it anyway, cause you gotta eat."

"Search-engine firms routinely use spyware to capture market share. Now they face allegations of click fraud."
Btw, here's a link that may be of interest to the freedom of press folks. You can see quite clearly that Malaysians are well aware that their main press self censors. The PM admits it himself. I am sure this is similar to many other countries. Its citizens are well aware of self censorship in government owned media. I first came to be aware of self censorship in my country's media when I was 9 years old. So one must be really dumb to not realize it as an adult. I am putting it here because I know a lot of people in the West believe that Asians are brainwashed by their government because they don't realize that their government is actively censoring. We know, that's why people like me are so critical about what we read:
On the freedom of press in this democratic country, Abdullah said: “It is not tightly controlled. The Malaysian press have freedom but they are a very responsible press who understand the situation in which they operate.
“The main press self-censor, but there are other little ones printing all sorts of things and saying all sorts of things.”
