It really scares me to see journalistic publication embracing blogs. Blogs to me are like opinion columns . Sometimes fun to read but doesn't beat journalism in the long run. Of course, there are lots of journalist who report their stories like blogs, taking sides, dramatizing, etc. etc.. Perhaps it is the degradation of the standards of journalism that has made blogs little different from journalism today.
