Great post from Rezwan. Title is self-explanatory...
-
"Thailand’s military leaders on 15 January moved to block CNN broadcasts of the cable network’s exclusive interview with deposed prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra.."
-
"No identification of websites blocked has ever been disclosed to the public nor do these government agencies disclose which criteria they use to block."
my instinct about the coup is coming true. i didn't trust the coup in the first place. the coup government should put Thaksin on trial if Thaksin had done any wrong - not scare him out of the country.
not that i am a thaksin fan myself.
the country is too screwed up. thailand actually has many beautiful places to visit, but vice(prostitution) is still a major draw for a significant number of male tourist. prostitution was rampant 16 years ago, and still is today. it seem like the government simply does not wish to get rid of it. that's a reflection of their ethics. money overrides principles.
