Hi Rebecca,

Insightful post as always. I could not agree more about the need to act like citizens online and offline.

A friend of mine also noted that the online ecosystem metaphor also means that the increased diversity increases the chance of survival of the ecosystem if it is subjected to a massive disruption. If the system was more centralized, it would probably be more vulnerable to a massive attack. There might be a loss of efficiency because of the decentralized structure but on the long run, it is more sustainable this way. As any global voices-er would confirm, there is indeed strength in diversity.
